Charting the New Economy: An Introduction to Systems Mapping

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In order for new, more socially just economic activities to thrive, we must look at the broader contexts - political, economic, social, cultural, behavioural - that either impede or facilitate these new models. Systems thinking is not only vital to understanding how change happens, it is increasingly identified as an important 21st century skill for all citizens. But what does this actually mean? And how do you take an abstract concept and apply it to a real world challenge?

This workshop will introduce you to systems mapping as a set of tools to illuminate structural barriers & opportunities to change and to better understand the context within which shifts to new economic paradigms are embedded. You will be introduced to a variety of tools that can help you to better understand key relationships, citizen/customer experiences, power dynamics and mental models underlying the status quo.
