Using “Clusters” to Fast Track Social Enterprise Community Success

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

With clusters, more social enterprises can benefit from the power of collaboration, networking, and shared learning. The cluster approach also helps to minimize the sense of isolation that some social enterprise leaders experience, particularly in rural and remote communities. Clusters can also be a key tool in the toolkit for social enterprise intermediaries by complementing other services and supports that are offered.

In this session, attendees will learn how Ottawa’s Centre for Social Enterprise Development (CSED) and the Toronto Enterprise Fund (TEF) are building capacity and connectedness of the social enterprise through the use of ‘clusters’. Success factors and critical lessons learned will be shared with attendees who will then have the opportunity to model and discuss the development of social enterprise clusters in their own communities.
